I heard from David just a month ago, having noticed his name from his association with friends on Facebook. It was great to reconnect with him.

Karen, you’ll undoubtedly remember me on Short Road, just two houses from your family’s home on Dundee. I recently was a guest in my old house (beautifully redone now), and mentioned your fall through the tiles– from our attic into our new den addition!

Thoughts and prayers to you, Mae, and all of David’s family.

I learned of David’s death after his service on Friday. I am so sorry I missed seeing the family. David’s mom and my mom (Muriel Little) were best friends and David and Barbara and I played together frequently while parents played bridge or visited. I chatted with David briefly a couple of months ago. I am so sorry for your loss. Know that all of you will continue to be lifted up in prayer as you begin to journey in your grief.

  29. Kind words from The Shelby’s

    Mae, Justin, Elliott & Michael:
We were so sorry, saddened and surprised to read about Dave’s death. A soccer team photo of Dave and his boys hangs in our son’s room to remind us of those fun days when our sons were playing soccer together. The McKenzie household was a happy place to be in those days, and we think that Dave enjoyed every minute of it. He was always willing to coach, go camping or do whatever his boys wanted to do. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Elliott, please come and visit us sometime so that we can give you a hug. Love to all of you.
