Ann Arnold
Ann Arnold, of Pinehurst, passed Wednesday March 10, 2010 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mrs. Arnold was born in San Angelo, TX to the late Thomas Jefferson Elrod and Mamie Jewel Trussell.
A visitation will be held from 10AM to 12PM at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst on Saturday March 13, 2010. A Funeral service will follow at 2PM at The Village Chapel in Pinehurst with the Rev. Doctor Al Hill officiating. Burial will be private in Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Born in San Angelo, TX, she grew up in a ranching family. She graduated from Odessa High School and the University of Texas, Austin. She and Jim knew each other from their youth. Together, they just celebrated fifty wonderful years of marriage. Jim’s work moved them across Texas and eventually to the frozen tundra known as the Windy City. Living in suburban Chicago for many years brought fabulous experiences, friendships and significant job-related international travel. Jim and Ann moved to Pinehurst in 1998 to return to Southern living and a warmer climate.
Always industrious, she was a middle school teacher at age 19. After raising James Thomas she spent many years in the insurance industry. Providing, hosting, entertaining and sharing gave her great joy. She also loved to be involved in many activities in the church and in her community. When she passed she was currently serving as President of the Women of Weymouth.
Ann believed in Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. In sorrow and in joy her faith remained constant. She was part of a wonderful heritage of believers. She was a former elder in Community Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by her husband James E. Arnold of Pinehurst, son James Thomas Arnold and his wife Tami, and grandchildren Maggie, Matthew, Mason, and Molly of Dublin, OH. Also a brother, Tommy Elrod and wife Jo Beth of Odessa, TX and a sister, Jane Elrod of Midland, TX.
Memorial donations can be made in memory of Ann Arnold to either P.E.O. or Women of Weymouth. P.E.O. donations to financially assist local young women to advance their education should be sent to P.E.O., 270 Sugar Pine Drive Pinehurst, NC 28374. Women of Weymouth donations are to be sent to PO Box 939 Southern Pines, NC 28388. Make checks out to the Weymouth Center.

Dear Jim, James, Tami and children
We were so sad to hear about Ann’s passing, thinking back to the more than 20 years we have known you. We know that the Lord has called her home and that our prayers were answered in that Ann is now at peace with her Father in Heaven. Jim, we would have given much to be in Pinehurst tomorrow, but due to travel visas could not make it. We trust you will know God’s presence and love throughout the next days, weeks, months and years and that you know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Love from Rob, Gillian and family in Boksburg, South Africa.

Dear Jim, James Thomas, Tami and family.
Jan and I are very saddened to hear of Ann’s passing. We offer our deepest heartfelt condolences. Ann will always be remembered as one of the nicest, kindest, sweetest and most talented of Jesus’ flock. We remember her beautiful eyes and a constant smile that made them sparkle.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and always a trusted friend of ours. We remember those young days in Wheaton with great food, pool matches and meaningful conversations when we solved the problems of the world.
Ann and her family will be frequently in our prayers.
Sadly,
Jan and Russ Martinkus
