Barbara G. Balboni
Barbara G. Balboni, 84, of Southern Pines passed away Monday, March 1 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.
A long-time resident of Southern Pines, she was born in Marion, MA to the late Louis Garty and Jennie Ashley Garty. She graduated from Bryant College in Providence, RI. She enjoyed swimming and golf and took great pride in her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Balboni. She is survived by two sons, Robert Balboni and wife Sylvia of Seven Lakes, NC and Neal Balboni and wife Cecily of Marion, MA; one granddaughter Kristen Balboni and three grandsons, Bobby Balboni, Jared Rivas and Evan Rivas; three great-grandchildren Isabella, Collin, and Ashley Rivas.
Arrangements are being made by Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines. To fulfill her wishes, a memorial service has not been scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation, 120 North Street, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 in honor of the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Awareness Research.

I was so sorry to learn late last evening of Barbara’s death. She was such a great friend to my Mom. I have not seen her in a while and missed our conversations at the Wal-Mart. Please know you are all in our prayers as you journey through grief. Our love, James and Joyce
