Frank Corbett passed away peacefully on March 14, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband and a devoted father. Frank was well known by family, friends, and everyone he encountered for his quick and charming sense of humor, his generosity of spirit, and his love of life.

He was one of the original founders of the Yorktown Athletic Club and coached Little League baseball for many years. He had an inherent talent for teaching the fundamentals of sports, and generations of young people benefited from his mentoring. He was also active in the CYO and the Holy Name Society in St. Patrick’s Church. Frank and Lorraine retired in 1986 and moved to Aberdeen, NC, where they both pursued their love of golf. Frank became a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Anthony’s parish in Southern Pines. He was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels for many years.

To the Corbett Family,
My prayers go out to all of you as you mourn the loss of your husband and Dad. Frank’s joyfilled spirit was known throughout Yorktown and I’m sure in North Carolina. He was a true man of God who exemplified a servant’s heart. God’ peace to you all.

Dear Kathy,
My prayers and sincere thoughts are with you and your family. Frank always had a great joke or some funny anecdote to share with me or as I recall my dad would share one with me that your dad has shared with him.
As active members of St. Patrick’s, I always wondered what these two men got done -volunteering for various committees at church. May God’s peace and love be with you and your family as you mourn this loss.

My heartfelt condolonces to you Mrs. Corbett and your family. Please also send my love to Stephen.
I never knew we shared a history of yonkers! My dad was born and raised there, and I was born in St. Johns hopsital and lived there until the age of 4. And then my grandparents lived in new rochelle until retirement, and my sister lives there now. It was enlightening to read about your dad’s history! Much love and blessings to you…big hugs!
