Gerald Lynn Bates, 66, of Pinehurst, passed Wednesday February 24, 2010 at his residence.  Mr. Bates was born September 14, 1943 to the late Charles Owen Bates and Bernice Schulte Bates in Cook, Nebraska.

Mr. Bates served his country in the US Air Force as a Tech. Sergeant Procurement Officer during the Vietnam Era. He later worked for Parsons Inc. Petroleum Corp. in Saudi Arabia for over fifteen years Mr. bates at the same time became part owner and Real Estate Developer for William-Bates Investment Company in Pinehurst. 

He is survived by his brother, Robert Bates and wife Judy of San Angelio, TX,. A sister-in-law, Dawn Bates of Huntsville, AL,. Dear friends, Cathy Seagroves and Suzy Morgan of Pinehurst.  Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother Charles Owen Bates, Jr. in January 2009 and dear friend and business partner Mike Williams.
