James F. Walsh
James F. Walsh, age 73, died at his home in Pinehurst, NC on March 8, 2010.
Jim was born in the South Bronx, NY on September 4, 1936, son of the late Eileen Jennings and Michael Walsh, brother of Mary Maloney and William Walsh. He attended St. Luke’s Grammar School, Cardinal Hayes High School [54] and New York University [‘63]. He served his country with the 721st Railway Operating Battalion and then began a Sales, Marketing, and Public Relations career working with the NY Central RR and Verizon. He and Helen retired to Pinehurst from Eastchester, NY in 2001.
Jim was deeply devoted to his family and will be truly missed by his wife of 48 years, Helen and their three children: Sheila and husband Anthony Plocharczyk of Raleigh, NC; James Walsh Jr. and wife Meghan of Charlotte, NC; Brenden Walsh and wife Janine of Woodbridge, CT and six grandchildren: Ian, Shea, Kathleen, Lauren, Conor and Cailin.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Pinehurst with Rev. James M. Labosky officiating. Rite of Committal will be held at a later date at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Southern Pines.
Memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, 150 Applecross Rd., Pinehurst, NC 28374 or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Boles Funeral Home of Pinehurst is serving the family.

This is such a sad loss. Helen, what a rock you have been through all of this! Big Jimmy will be missed. Take care Walsh family, wishing you strength and fond memories from Vermont.

Dear Helen,
The Bullard family was very sad to hear about Jimmy this week. We will miss him, and our thoughts & prayers are with you and your family at your time of loss. We will always have fond memories of you both together, and of Jimmy jogging daily down the street on a sunny summer morning.
