We have lost one of the most wonderful people I have had the opportunity to work with in USPC. We all learned so much from her gentle humor and her rare talent to diplomatically get her point across. Thank you to her family for sharing her with us. Our heart felt sympathy and prayers are with you all during this time.

As a USPC family, we appreciate everything Joan had done not only for USPC but also for the horse community. We are proud to say that this year our 19 year old daugter won the Spirit of Pony Club award that is presented in Joan’s name.

Joan was the reason I became a National Examiner. She was Regional Supervisor when my daughters were in pony club and I was a D.C., and she inspired me in SO MANY ways! As I became more active in pony club, I tried to imagine how Joan would handle whatever situation arose. I still think of her as a mentor. She left some wonderful footprints, and I’m still trying to walk in those steps. Thank you, Joan, for what you taught us.

I was a member of the Sandspur Pony Club, back in the day. We were a ragtag bunch of backyard riders until Mrs. K’s leadership molded us into Pony Clubbers and a regionally competitive team. God bless her. She was a golden soul.
