John Yonish, Sr.  86, of Aberdeen, NC; passed Monday, December 19, 2011 at Pinehurst Health Care and Rehab in Pinehurst.  Mr. Yonish was born April 8, 1925 in Windber, PA to the late Mike and Pauline (Szapp) Yonish.

A memorial service will be held 2PM Thursday December 29, 2011 at the Bible Tabernacle Church in Whispering Pines with Joshua Bryant officiating.  A reception and visitation will follow the memorial service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Yonish served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WWII as a B17 tail gunner.  He later received his Pilots license in 1966 and enjoyed flying as a hobby. 
Mr. Yonish was preceded in death by his wife of 44years in 1991 Irene Santa Yonish.  Also preceding him in death were several brothers and sisters.
  
Mr. Yonish is survived by three sons, John Yonish, Jr. and wife Brenda of Aberdeen.  Dennis Yonish and wife Donna of Lincolnton, NC; Kenneth Yonish and wife Cathy of Whispering Pines, NC; Three brothers, Alex Yonish, Joe Yonish, and Mike Yonish all of Pennsylvania. Nine grandchildren and fifteen, great-grandchildren.
