Joseph Eugene Morgan, 84, of Robbins passed away February 6, 2010 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.

Mr. Morgan was born May 11, 1925 in New York, NY to the late William and Bertha Morgan. He served for five years in the Coast Guard in WWII. Upon coming home from the War he proudly served as a New York City Police officer for sixteen years.

He received his bachelor’s degree from New York College. He was a life scholar who never tired of learning. He furthered his studies at New York University and welcomed any opportunity to expand his knowledge. He was known for his great sense of humor and being a comedian. He lived life to its’ fullest.

 He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Rouse, his brothers, Frank, John “Lindy”, Matthew and Peter Morgan, and his sister, Susan Morgan.

He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Lynn Miller of Rockingham, NC and Lenora Morgan Tickle of Cary, NC; sons, Jeffrey Stephen Miller and Mark Brendan Morgan of Robbins, NC; a sister, Annie Morgan of New York, NY; grandchildren, Michael Beers, Brian Beers, Constance Miller, Jeffrey Miller, Brendan Morgan, Shane Miller, Broc Tickle, Colton Tickle and Carson Tickle and twelve great-grandchildren.
