Mary Lee Yarborough Smith
Mary Lee Yarborough Smith, age 86 of Carthage, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Peak Resources-Pinelake Nursing Center in Carthage.
She was born on May 4, 1925 in Scotland County, NC to the late Jona Yarborough and Emma Knight Yarborough. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and Christian who loved going to church. She also enjoyed cooking and shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2009, John Archie Smith, a son Jimmy Smith, and two sisters: Cornelia Phillips and Frances Smith.
She is survived by three sons: Ricky Smith and wife Gail of High Falls, NC; Jesse Smith and wife Linda of Robbins, NC; and Jerry Smith of Cameron, NC. She is also survived by a brother, Jake Yarborough of Hickory, NC; sister, Sarah Smith of Staley, NC and four granddaughters: Crystal, Melissa, Kimberly and Dawn; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home Chapel in Seven Lakes with Rev. Ken Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 11:00-1:00 p.m.

Aunt Mary was one of the humblest people I knew. I know the angles in heaven rejoyced as she crossed over into heavens gates. I loved her and I will miss her.

I loved Aunt Mary, I loved her smile when she would come into church. You could see that she loved the Lord so much. I will miss her but I will always remember her smile and the love she has for her family.
