Ms. Dora Frances Chavis, age 80 of 308 Lindsey Lane, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in her home.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 2:30 PM in Friendly Temple Baptist Church, Shannon, NC.  Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Rocky Williamson, Rev. Hulon Chavis & Bro. Earl Jones, officiating.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Rev. Herbert Chavis, her parents: William Foster & Rilla Jane Locklear; one son: Larry Chavis: two grandsons: Brian K. Chavis and Shawn Price Chavis; one granddaughter: Christina Valderramos.

She is survived by three sons: Rev. Eugene Chavis, Mr. Herbert Chavis, Jr. and Mr. Faron Chavis all of Shannon, NC; four daughters: Bonnie C. McMillian and Vivian Locklear both of Shannon, NC; Joyce Chavis Pevia of Raleigh, NC and Jeanette Valderramos of Pine Bluff, NC. One sister: Margan Clark of Maxton, NC; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 7-9 PM at Friendly Temple Baptist Church, Shannon, NC.

Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Boles Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Red Springs, NC.
