V.D. Revels, age 64, of 245 Apollo Lane Rowland died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. 

Funeral service will be held Thursday January 28, 2010 at 3:00pm at Hickory Hill Freewill Baptist Church. Revs. Ricky Burnette and Johnny Locklear will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Revels was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend, and will be dearly missed. He was a fan of NASCAR and a true FORD man.

Mr. Revels is survived by his wife, Lucille Revels of the home, six daughters; Rose Revels, Dana Johnson, Sueann Hunt, Kelly Jackson, Wanda Revels, and Josie Revels all of Rowland. Four sons; Bruce Revels, Roger Revels, William Revels and (stepson) J.J. Bartley all of Rowland, five brothers; James Mack Revels, and Rudolph (Teenie) Revels both of Rowland, Alton Revels of Goldsboro, Robert E. (Pee Wee) Revels of Lumberton and James R. (Bird Dog) Revels of High Point, two sisters; Annie Revels Jacobs of Lumberton, Wanda D. Revels of Rowland, 20 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 3 step grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00pm at Boles Funeral Home of Rowland.
